Keto refers to a diet low in carbs and high in fat. As one of the more popular fad diets in recent years, you’ve likely heard of it before. However, the question remains: is keto good for you? 

Some potential benefits of the keto diet include providing treatment for individuals with epilepsy and diabetes. Nonetheless, as a diet that requires people to consume the majority of their calories from fat, it is not sustainable for everyone. There are even some potential risks from following the ketogenic diet, such as the keto flu, low blood pressure, and nutrient deficiencies.

All in all, the keto diet can be beneficial for individuals with some pre-existing conditions. Regardless, it may not be the best diet for everyone. It’s recommendable to speak to your physician before beginning with the keto diet.
